Beyond the vascular profile: conventional DWI, IVIM and kurtosis in the assessment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
CONCLUSIONS: DWI should be an integral part of study protocol for HCC patients, considering the great advantages due to DWI and DWI-based approaches in detection and characterization of HCC. PMID: 32706066 [PubMed - in process]

Diverse effects of taurine on vascular response and inflammation in GSH depletion model in rabbits.
CONCLUSIONS: Treatment with BSO resulted in vascular reactivity changes and increased immunostaining of TNF-α in mainly carotid arteries in this model of oxidative stress. The effect of taurine on BSO-induced vascular reactivity changes varied depending on the vessel. The inhibition of the increase in TNF-α expression by taurine in both carotid arteries and aortae supports the proposal that taurine has a beneficial effect in the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as atherosclerosis. Regulation of miR-92a on vascular endothelial aging via mediating Nrf2-KEAP1-ARE signal pathway.
CONCLUSIONS: In aged vascular endothelium, miR-92a was up-regulated. Through inhibiting miR-92a expression and regulating Nrf2-KEAP1-ARE signal pathway, the oxidative stress reaction or inflammation can be suppressed, thus inhibiting endothelial apoptosis and facilitating cell proliferation. The intervention of enalapril maleate and folic acid tablet on the expressions of the GRP78 and CHOP and vascular remodeling in the vascular smooth muscle cells of H-hypertensive rats with homocysteine.
CONCLUSIONS: The administration of enalapril maleate and folic acid tablet can maintain the normal state of cells via the alleviation of ERS and vascular damages, reduction of HCY and the thickness of arterial media as well as the improvement of vascular remodeling. PMID: 29687876 [PubMed - in process]

The mechanisms of Ang II-induced hypertensive vascular remodeling under suppression of CD68 in macrophages.
CONCLUSIONS: CD68 regulates the Ang II-induced hypertensive vascular remodeling through mediating macrophage inflammatory factor release. PMID: 30280796 [PubMed - in process]

Mechanism of action of Profilin-1 and Fibulin-3 in vascular remodeling in hypertensive rats.
CONCLUSIONS: The changes in Profilin-1 and Fibulin-3 levels may affect the occurrence and development of vascular remodeling in hypertension. Therefore, Profilin-1 and Fibulin-3 can be used as sensitive detection indices for hypertension vascular remodeling. PMID: 31599437 [PubMed - in process]

Inflammation, apoptosis and autophagy as critical players in vascular dementia.
Authors: Wang XX, Zhang B, Xia R, Jia QY Abstract Vascular dementia is the second-most cause of dementia, characterized by cerebral infarcts, white matter lesions, myelin loss and often amyloid angiopathy. Hence, vascular damage is a critical cause of neuronal loss and synaptic disintegration. Abnormal neuroinflammation, autophagy and apoptosis are the prerequisite factors for endothelial and neuronal cell damage. This leads to the onset and progression of cerebrovascular disorders and cognitive dysfunction. The innate immune cells, pattern recognition receptors, Toll-like receptor-4 and related inflammatory mechan...
